Research, advisory, and systems work

In addition to my psychology practice, I do non-clinical professional and research-oriented work focused on presence, transitions, endings, and trustworthy boundaries in human and AI systems.

This work is separate from psychotherapy. It is concerned with how people and systems move from one state, role, task, or interaction into the next with more presence, integrity, and trust.

Presence Shift®

Presence Shift® is the broader body of work behind my writing, app development, and systems thinking. In practical terms, it explores how finite structures can help people leave one task, role, or interaction and enter the next with greater presence. That includes individual reflective practice, task and state transitions, and the design of systems that support human autonomy rather than erode it.

This work currently informs:

Advisory work

I also engage in selected non-clinical advisory work with organizations exploring how human-facing and AI systems should support transitions, preserve autonomy, and know where participation should stop.

This work may include:

  • relational AI boundary review
  • human transition design
  • trustworthy endings and handoff design
  • early work on where a serious system should stop, shift, or hand off
  • selective support for organizations exploring how to get started responsibly
This work is separate from psychotherapy and does not involve clinical treatment, diagnosis, or coaching.

Presence Shift® Termination Standard (PSTS)

The Presence Shift Termination Standard (PSTS) is a governance-layer initiative focused on trustworthy boundaries in serious systems.

PSTS is the layer that makes an owner-defined stop boundary operationally final and turns that finality into structured evidence that can be reviewed.

It is separate from my clinical practice and is oriented toward system governance, auditability, authority attribution, and trustworthy boundaries in high-stakes environments.
